Venio started on site.
Venio was built by two founders, Joel Smalley and Dale Smith. Dale is a working builder. He runs G. L. Smith & Sons, family builders in Hertfordshire, and he has spent over twenty years on the tools.
The thing that started it was simple. Every good builder Dale knew did brilliant work on site, then lost their evenings to the paperwork: writing up quotes, doing valuations, chasing payment. At the same time, good homeowners struggled to find trades they could trust, with no real way to see the finished work behind a name.
Joel and Dale were looking at two sides of the same gap. They built Venio to close it. On one side, a marketplace where a trade's finished jobs become their reputation. On the other, Site Desk, the back office that does the paperwork, so the work can speak for itself.
